Robert has been a partner at Turbervilles since 1989, having qualified as a solicitor more than 25 years ago, after graduating with an MA in law at Cambridge University.
With a background in commercial litigation, he has for the past 15 years specialised in employment law. Acting for employers, he has a special interest in boardroom disputes, TUPE related issues and tackling illegal competition from ex-employees. Robert has considerable expertise in helping clients managing sensitive or challenging dismissals. He also advises employees, helping them with difficult situations at work or with employment tribunal claims.

Robert has been involved in some high profile cases including the case of Alboni v Ind Coope Retail Limited in which the Court of Appeal gave a judgment which has had a significant impact on the law relating to unfair dismissal.

In 2013 Robert acted for an American-owned marketing agency in its successful defence of a £100,000 claim by a senior ex-employee for unfair dismissal and breach of contract. The case went to a final hearing where Robert’s client’s actions were completely vindicated. In a further 2013 case he represented a woman who had been http://laparkan.com/buy-sildenafil/ dismissed after 30 years’ service on trumped up misconduct charges. The client received over £100,000 compensation for her unfair dismissal and for disability discrimination.
Also in 2013 Robert assisted a Japanese-owned company to resolve some difficult TUPE issues which arose on the disposal of part of its UK business.
