Premises Licences (new applications and variations) Under the Licensing Act 2003, all premises wishing to serve alcohol or provide some forms of entertainment must have a premises licence granted by their local licensing authority.

The department is equipped to advise on all aspects of premises licence applications, including applications to vary premises licences. The department regularly provides this service nationwide for national supermarket and pub chains, but also has close links with local businesses.
