Family Law

The Family Department has a strong and dedicated team dealing with all aspects of family law and issues relating to children. The team is committed to providing clear and proprotionate advice to a range of clients, whilst understanding the difficulties both emotionally and financially that a family or relationship breakdown can impose.

The Department is divided into two specialist groups: the Divorce and Finance Team headed by Kate Ryan, and the Children Team headed by Celia Whittuck.

Areas of work undertaken by the Divorce and Finance Team include:

• All aspects of divorce
• Civil Partnerships
• Cohabitee disputes, including claims under the Trust of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996
• Domestic violence and injunctions
• Financial settlements with expertise in complex cases to include businesses, assets in other jurisdictions, tax and pension issues
• Maintenance

Turbervilles is also highly regarded in the area of field of law relating to children, and members of its staff have accreditations from a number of nationally recognised bodies such as The Law Society's Children Panel and The Association of Lawyers for Children.
