Children Cases
Our Team offer a practical and realistic approach to disputes regarding children and aim to minimise any bitterness between the parents. Courts decide matters relating to children by considering what is in the child's "best interests". With that in mind, the court has to consider the following when deciding what order, if any, to make:-
- Wishes and feelings of the child
- The child's physical, emotional and educational needs
- Likely effect on the child of any change in his/her circumstances
- Child's age, sex, background, and any characteristics the child may have as relevant
- Any harm which the child has suffered or is at risk of suffering
- How capable each of the child's parents is of meeting their needs
